The focus of the strategy resource management and climate responsibility is for the city to develop an urban district that strives for a fossil-fuel-free, low-resource, and non-toxic future. Resource flows are designed to be circular, and to minimise the city’s impact on the environment and the climate.
The strategy is comprehensive with many goals and targets and have therefore been divided into three subcategories:
Waste, bulk materials management
Subcategory focus; construction waste, household waste, soil remediation.
Energy and Climate
Subcategory focus: energy produced locally and energy performance of individual buildings.
Sustainable material and Indoor Environment Quality (IEQ)
Subcategory focus: the number of developers who achieve the Gold rating level, (national Swedish certification system to ensure sustainable buildings), but also deviations regarding built-in material for developers and the city’s public spaces.
